He currently works as a handyman, at the shop where he first met his good friend Kanji. Subaru and Kanji have an unspoken rule to not pry into each other's personal lives. As such, Kanji and Subaru barely know anything about each other. One day after work, the two are forced to sleep at the shop due to heavy snow.
